Dakshin South Indian Bistro started by Chef Owner JP in downtown Kirkland serves traditional south Indian dishes in a classic contemporary and cozy Indian space. The food is served take out style and there is also some seating available for customers.
JP stay’s true to his coastal south Indian traditional dishes and the rich array of spices but will plan to combine them with seasonal local produce to create soul satisfying dishes.
The menu will hinge on a variety of South Indian staples like Dosa(Rice Crepes); Idli(Steamed Rice Cakes), Paratha(Kerala style layered flat bread) and Idiyappam(Rice based string hoppers). The staples will be served with a choice of accompaniments such as Sambhar(Vegetable and Lentil Stew), Kurma(Vegetables in coconut gravy) and Chicken Ghassi (Mangalorean style chicken curry).
Dakshin will also offer an exciting list of Dosa’s ranging from the simple but flavorful Ghee Roast Dosa to the more up and coming Paneer filled Dosa. There will also be the Classic Mysore Masala Dosa as well as the Spicy Khara Dosa.Both idli and Dosa will served with finger licking good chutney’s such as the green coconut chutney and the spicy red lentil chutney.
We will offer a choice of options for the quick lunch or dinner customers who want to breeze in and out. Customers can select from simple yet filling rice bowls or more elaborate options with one and two entrees that are served with Rice, Roti and Dhal.
